You’ve finished Year 12, you’ve gotten through your exams, and now it’s almost time to check your ATAR results. Take a deep breath. You’re nearly there.

When your ATAR comes out depends on where you live. Each state has its own release date, time and login. Find your state below to see when results drop, how to check yours, and who to contact if something goes wrong.

One tip before you scroll: log in to your results account in the week before release day (or for Tasmanians, check that TASC has your right email). Make sure your password works and your email address is up to date. Sorting that out now means one less thing to deal with on the day.

When do ATARs come out in the ACT?

For ACT students, your ATAR will be released on Wednesday 16 December 2026, from 9am.

You can see your ATAR on the UAC website. To log in, you’ll need your 7-digit student number from the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) and your 4-digit UAC PIN. Your UAC PIN was emailed to you in April.

The BSSS also gives you a statement that includes your ATAR. You’ll find it in Student Profiles Online in mid-December.

Need help? Lost your UAC PIN? Call UAC on (02) 9752 0200. For questions about your results, your school’s careers adviser is a good first stop.

When are ATARs released in NSW?

NSW students, your ATARs will drop on Wednesday 16 December 2026 at 9am AEDT, a few hours after your HSC results are released at 6am.

Your HSC results and your ATAR come from two different places. NESA sends your HSC results, and you can also see them in Students Online. Your ATAR comes from UAC, and it won’t show up in Students Online.

To see your ATAR, log in to the UAC website with your 8-digit NESA student number and your 4-digit UAC PIN. Your UAC PIN was emailed to you in April. It’s not the same as your HSC PIN. While you’re logged in, download and save a copy of your ATAR Advice Notice.

When does Queensland release ATAR results?

Queensland students, your ATAR will be released on Friday 18 December 2026 from 9am AEST.

They'll be released online through the QTAC ATAR Portal. You need an ATAR Portal account to see yours. It’s separate from your QTAC application, so signing up for one doesn’t sign you up for the other.

You've probably already set this up, but if you need to change your email address, you can log in and use the Edit Student Details function. FYI: use your personal email address, not your school one, as your school one may stop working once you finish year 12.

Can’t see your ATAR? Check that the name and date of birth on your account match your school enrolment exactly. Using a nickname instead of your full legal name is a common reason it doesn’t show up.

Need help? Call QTAC’s ATAR hotline on 1300 193 173 or email atar@qtac.edu.au. For questions about your uni application, call QTAC on 1300 467 822.

When are ATARs released in South Australia and the Northern Territory?

South Australia and Northern Territory students, your ATARs are released in the same spot. Both come out on Monday 14 December 2026, from 8.30am AEDT for Adelaide and 8am ACST for Darwin.

SACE and NTCET results are released in SACE Students Online. Your ATAR is on your Tertiary Entrance Statement, which you’ll also find in Students Online. Log in with your SACE registration number and PIN.

Need help? For problems with your results or logging in, email askSACE@sa.gov.au or call 1300 322 920 (8.30am to 5pm Adelaide time, weekdays). For questions about uni applications, call SATAC on 1300 138 440.

When do ATAR results come out for Tasmania?

Tasmania, your ATARs will be released on Wednesday 16 December 2026. There's no set time or log in; TASC will email your results to the address you gave on your Student Declaration. The emails go out progressively, so yours might not land first thing. (Unfortunately this may means you'll spend the day refreshing your inbox, so our apologies in advance!) If you’re eligible for an ATAR, you’ll get an ATAR Statement by email and in the post.

Want your results sent to a different email? Update it on the TASC website by Tuesday 15 December. You’ll need to click the link in the confirmation email to finish (check your spam folder if it doesn’t show up).

Need help? If you think you should have an ATAR but didn’t get one, fill in TASC’s Results Query form. For anything else, call TASC on (03) 6165 6000 (8.30am to 4.30pm, weekdays) or email enquiries@tasc.tas.gov.au.

When are ATARs released in Victoria?

Victorian students, you'll receive your ATAR on Thursday 10 December 2026 from 7am AEDT.

Your VCE results and ATAR come out together through the VCE Results and ATAR service. You can check online at resultsandatar.vic.edu.au or through the app. Log in with your VCAA student number and your results service password. You need to have registered for the service to use it, so do that before release day if you haven’t already.

Free access to the service runs until 5pm on Tuesday 15 December.

Need help? Call the Post Results and ATAR Service (PRAS) on 1800 653 080. It’s open 7am to 5pm on release day. PRAS can answer your questions, but it can’t give you your results over the phone.

When does Western Australia release ATARs?

Western Australian students, your ATARs will be released Sunday 20 December 2026 from 8am AWST.

Your ATAR is released by TISC through TISCOnline. Your User ID is your 8-digit 2026 WACE Candidate Number. If it’s your first time logging in, your password is the first two letters of your family name in lower case, followed by your full date of birth (ddmmyyyy).

Heads up: the deadline to change your uni preferences is 11.59pm that same day. That gives you less than a day to adjust once you see your ATAR. It’s worth thinking through your options for a few different scores before results day.

Your results stay in TISCOnline until Sunday 28 February 2027, so download a copy before then.

Need help? Call TISC on (08) 9318 8000 or email help@tisc.edu.au. TISC’s office is usually only open on weekdays, so check its website for any extra hours around results day.

If your ATAR isn’t what you hoped

Your ATAR is one number. It doesn’t decide the rest of your life. If yours is lower than you wanted, you still have plenty of options — and you're not alone. In Anyway's latest research paper After The ATAR IV (2026), 34% of respondents were fearful they wouldn't receive the ATAR they wanted.

• You can change your preferences. Every state lets you update your uni preferences after results come out. Check the deadline for your state.

• Your ATAR isn’t always the final word. Many unis add bonus points for things like the subjects you studied or where you live. Some also have entry pathways that don’t rely on your ATAR at all.

• Uni isn’t the only way forward. TAFE, apprenticeships, traineeships and getting straight into work are all solid ways to start building a career. And guess what: 24% of respondents in Anyway's After the ATAR IV said they weren't sure if university was right for them.

• Talk it through. Your school’s careers adviser can help you work out your next move, even after you’ve finished school. You can also chat to Blinky, your personal, digital career coach, right here on Anyway.

And if your ATAR is everything you wanted? Nice work. Enjoy it!
