A major milestone for ACU this week, as we celebrated the sod-turning on our new STEM Centre of Education Excellence at the Strathfield Campus, alongside MP for Strathfield @jasonyatsenli and @strathfieldcouncil Mayor Cr Benjamin Cai. This project was made possible thanks to the @nswgov, through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grant Program. It will deliver cutting-edge facilities for learning, research and innovation, helping prepare the next generation of STEM professionals and strengthening connections with industry and the local community. ACU has been ranked 1st among Australian universities for energy efficiency in the 2024 Tertiary Education Facilities Management Association annual survey. That means ACU uses around half the energy per square meter of floor space compared to the average for the whole university sector. Connection to her heritage has been like a superpower for Mackenzie Davis who has been announced as @unisportau’s 2025 winner of the Most Outstanding Performance by an Indigenous Student-Athlete.   The Rugby 7s star and Australian Catholic University student was honoured at the UniSport Sports Awards Presentation at RMIT University in Melbourne.   Her recognition was the latest in a starburst series of achievements on the global HSBC 7s circuit, including winning the Junior Women’s Player of the Year at the 2025 Rugby Australia Awards.   Mackenzie grew up in Sydney but has a strong link via her mother Tina with the Dunghutti nation on the New South Wales mid-north coast. That celebrated breeding ground for athletes is the same region that launched rugby league champions Greg Inglis and Preston Campbell.   Mackenzie is in the second year of a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree, following in the footsteps of ACU alum, Rugby 7s Olympic gold medallist Emma Tonegato.   Balancing her sporting career with global travel and academia is a delicate and sometimes chaotic relationship. It evens out harmoniously through membership of ACU’s Elite Athlete and Performer Program.   “I couldn’t do what I do without the EAPP,” Mackenzie said.   “There are times I’m cramming in uni between training or at the airport. Australian Catholic University has taken out the top spot in Australia for research quality for the third year in a row, according to the Times Higher Education 2026 World University Rankings. ACU was ranked number 17 globally for research quality, up from 24th last year. This milestone highlights the university's growing influence and reputation in the international research community. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assesses more than 2,000 universities from 115 countries. ACU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) Professor Abid Khan said the results highlight the impact of the research carried out at ACU. “We're proud to again be recognised as a world-class research institution, and this ranking is a reflection of our drive to make a real impact that transforms lives and communities," Professor Khan said. "This recognition belongs to our staff, students and our national and international collaborators, whose pursuit of knowledge helps push boundaries and drive progress." #THEunirankings

ACU has ranked number one in Australia for employer satisfaction, according to the latest QILT Employer Satisfaction Survey (ESS). In a milestone achievement, 90.7 per cent of employers reported positive overall satisfaction with ACU graduates – the best result for any university in the country and the first time ACU has scored over 90 per cent. ACU also ranked in the top five universities nationwide for student experience at university and second in Australia for international undergraduate student satisfaction, according to the Student Experience Survey (SES) results. ACU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Tania Broadley said the strong results reflected the university’s focus on mission and impact. “Employers are telling us that ACU graduates bring the skills, values, and qualities that make a real difference in the workplace,” Professor Broadley said. “At ACU, students aren’t just a number – they feel seen, valued, and genuinely supported.” Read more via the link in our bio 🔗
