Theatrical Makeup Artists
Overview
You apply makeup and design looks for stage performers, film actors, and costume characters to enhance their appearance and support their character portrayal. You'll use makeup products, prosthetics, and sometimes special effects technology while working quickly under production deadlines. Training through cosmetology or theatrical makeup programs (often 6 months to 2 years) is needed; creativity and anatomy knowledge are important. This role is for artistic people who enjoy hands-on work and theater or film.
